An old Chinese proverb wisely states, “Crossing a river requires moving forward step by step, feeling out the stones before one’s feet.” I believe this proverb perfectly captures the allure of a promising future beyond the river, the uncertainties and risks that flow at one’s feet, and the practical steps one can take to navigate them.
My own river crossing took me to Asia, where I spent over 25 years working as strategy specialist and advisor to companies and people ranging across the foods, aviation, cosmetics and fashion industries. I enjoyed and benefited from exposure to widely different cultures, languages, cuisines and perspectives.
Several years ago, my family and I were able to recross the river, move back to the States and enjoy reacquainting with the wonders of America. Through these experiences, I’ve learned that everyone is capable of crossing their river and that there are many ways to navigate, but it requires determination, directedness, and discipline. Moreover, crossing with someone alongside makes the journey much easier.
Drawing on my many years of experience as an advisor, my mission as a Career Ownership Coach with The Entrepreneur’s Source is to help you safely “cross your river,” step by step. Together, at a pace that works for you, we will identify and clarify the lifestyle and financial priorities you have for yourself and your family and make informed choices about your future .
I currently reside in the Dallas area with my wife. Our two children recently graduated from the University of Texas and now live in Austin. In my free time, I enjoy fly fishing, skiing, and gardening.
